Attorney Michael P. Forbes has always been driven by a deep desire to help others. He began his legal career representing low-income families in the Philadelphia family court system, where he served for seven years. This early experience shaped his commitment to standing up for those facing hardship.
As his practice grew, Mr. Forbes expanded into the suburban counties of Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware County continuing to handle complex family law matters. During this time, he saw firsthand how damaged credit and looming foreclosures were devastating his clients' lives. That insight fueled a new mission: to empower clients with the legal tools and strategies they need to fight back against foreclosure and financial ruin.
Today, after 36+ years of practice, Forbes continues his commitment to consumers through his focus on foreclosure defense, consumer law and personal injury. His compassionate, aggressive representation has helped countless families regain control of their finances and their lives. His philosophy is that consumers are so often the under dogs. He enjoys giving them the knowledge, fight and experience they need to even out the battle with the behemoth banks, mortgage servicers and insurance companies.
“These issues are urgent,” says Forbes. I believe in offering a safe and approachable place so that when clients contact us they feel that they can move forward with someone who will aggressively fight on their behalf. Together we can get in the way of an over-aggressive bank or mortgage servicer to save homes, finances and prospects for their future and that of their families. I feel strongly that when someone is jolted by an accident they need someone competent and caring and relentless by their side to lead them to obtain the financial award owed to them by the party that caused their pain and suffering.
Though, Forbes has had many more wins than losses there are a couple of cases that he is extremely proud of. One is his winning of the seminal case in the state of Pennsylvania; U.S. Bank National Association v. Pautenis. This was a case where through diligence and relentlessness he was able to win the return his client’s home. This case is often used in hundreds of cases around the state to aid other under dogs against the behemoth banks and mortgage servicers.
Another proud stand out moment was his representation of the crew of the Maersk Alabama, which was the ship featured in the movie Captain Phillips. He negotiated a movie deal on behalf of the crew and was the spokesperson on various TV and radio interviews for the crew.

The Law Office of Michael P. Forbes, PC: A Family-Centered Practice
At the heart of the firm is a partnership, Michael and Nancy Forbes, husband and wife, who have built their practice together with a shared commitment to client care. Nancy, the firm’s Practice Director, is often the first voice new clients hear when they call. She ensures that every client feels welcomed, respected, and supported from the very beginning.
Together, the Forbeses have created what they call a “no-judgment zone” a safe haven where clients can feel confident opening up about their financial struggles without fear or shame.
Married for over 42 years, the Forbes family live in Chester County. They have raised their four children and now have 5 grandchildren. But at the moment, their dog Elsa, who is quite the character, takes up a good bit of their time.
